Dear Roland Schorr customer,

We are following the news reports today of a Ransomware strain that has- so far- hit 74 countries around the globe. Roland Schorr systems and services are protected against this vulnerability, and we are working diligently to make sure you are also but you should be aware that you may be at risk.

We recommend the following actions to our customers:

  • Patch your computers when you receive the Roland Schorr message to Reboot and Patch your computer, we perform this maintenance daily and pushed this patch last month. We have forced the install of the patch again this morning.
  • Notify your users to be extra cautious right now- even clicking on a suspicious attachment could instigate a ransomware attack
  • Backup your files with RST Secure Backups to allow quick recovery in the event you do fall victim to a ransomware attack. If you don't have backups then please contact us, we provide this service.

We can configure our RST Secure Backup service to archive all your files as well as Windows file servers. In the event of a ransomware attack, you will be able to roll back your files to an unencrypted state.
