Gmail users report yet another outage
Yet again the Google Apps site is struggling with some users unable to get in. I know I beat this drum pretty hard but this is exactly why I have concerns about Software as a Service (SaaS) as a model for running your firm.
If you have Word, WordPerfect or OpenOffice Writer on your desktop then when Google (or even the entire Internet) goes down you still have your word processor and your documents. If you're dependent upon a hosted word processor like Google Apps then when your host goes down (and even Google does) then you might as well call around for tee times because you're not going to get much work done.
